Course Description

This practical and highly-interactive course includes various practical sessions and exercises. Theory learnt will be applied using our state-of-the-art simulators.

Medical Emergency Planning & Preparedness is crucial for ensuring the health and safety of workers in high-risk environments such as offshore platforms, refineries, and drilling sites. Given the remote and hazardous nature of operations, comprehensive emergency response plans, medical evacuation (Medevac) protocols, and on-site medical facilities are essential. These plans include first aid training, emergency drills, access to medical supplies, and coordination with nearby hospitals and emergency services.

Key risks such as chemical exposure, fire-related injuries, falls, and respiratory issues require specialized medical response teams, telemedicine support, and immediate triage procedures. Compliance with OSHA, HSE, and industry-specific health and safety regulations ensures a structured and effective response, minimizing fatalities and enhancing worker well-being in case of medical emergencies.

This course covers the structured support and plan for major incidents; the pre-hospital approach and proper preparation; the reception phase in the ED as well as management and definitive care; and the recovery phase, support and special incidents.
