HE0057 : Certified Ergonomics Essentials

Course Description

This practical and highly-interactive course includes various practical sessions and exercises. Theory learnt will be applied using industrial hygiene simulator.

 

This course aims to provide a broad based introduction to ergonomic principles and their application in design of work, equipment and the workplace. Consideration is a given to musculo-skeletal disorders, manual handling, ergonomics aspects of the environment as well as to the social and legal aspects.

 

On completing this course successfully, the participants will have a basic understanding of the following:-

 

• Understand and apply ergonomic principles to the creation of safer, healthier and more efficient and effective activities in the workplace
• Understand ergonomic risk assessments and appropriate control measures
• Understand the causes of upper limb disorders and how to reduce them
• Appreciate workplace layout and equipment design
• Appreciate environmental aspects of good ergonomic design

TRAINING METHODOLOGY

This interactive training course includes the following training methodologies:

30 % Lectures
20 % Practical Workshops & Work Presentations
30 % Hands-on Practical Exercises & Case Studies
20 % Simulators (Hardware & Software) & Videos

In an unlikely event, the course instructor may modify the above training methodology for technical reasons.

VIRTUAL TRAINING (IF APPLICABLE)

If this course is delivered online as a Virtual Training, the following limitations will be applicable:

Certificates	:	Only soft copy certificates will be issued
Training Materials	:	Only soft copy materials will be issued
Training Methodology	:	80% theory, 20% practical
Training Program	:	4 hours per day, from 09:30 to 13:30
